We’re having a great weekend at the Fighting Fit Boot Camp Instructor training, and despite the crazy training schedule (these guys are smoked, and it’s only the first day) I got to catch up with a die-hard Small Dojo Big Profits fan.

Jamel McCurry is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt in the Machado system, and has been a school owner for five years. When Jamel first contacted me, it was to thank me for providing a system he could follow to success in starting a martial arts school. At the time, Jamel had dropped out of medical school in order to pursue his passion, jiu jitsu.

Five years later, I wanted to check in with him to see how he was doing, and how his school had progressed. We spoke over lunch and discussed his experience with following other business systems and coaches. I don’t want to give too much away, so I’ll just let you hear what he had to say in his own words:
