Profile of a Kid’s Martial Arts Empire

If you thought you couldn't make it just teaching kids, think again.

Teaching kids may be more lucrative than anyone ever realized

If you’ve never heard of Dawn Barnes, you should know that she founded one of the most successful brands in martial arts…

And, at her schools they only teach kids. Really.

A few years back, Entrepreneur magazine did a profile on her which was very interesting – you can read it here:

I think this is a great example of what you can accomplish when you pick a profitable niche for your school and stick with it.

The question is, could this be done in other niches within the martial arts market?

Well, it’s certainly been done in the adult self-defense market with krav maga, and many BJJ schools have met with success by solely focusing on the adult recreation market.

So, I’d say that there’s definitely possibilities for enterprising school owners who are bold enough to pick a single niche market and go after it with a vengeance.

Who knows… you might end up cornering that niche in your area, just like Dawn did.

    Mike,

Have you ever read any of Dawn’s books?

Nope – I’m more into YA novels. :)

Still, I think it was a savvy move on her part to write a chapter book series.
